What We Care About
World Pangolin Day - 17th February 2024
We love these armoured balls of cuteness and want to help raise awareness. Here are a few facts to get you better acquainted with them...
- Pangolins are mammals which are wholly-covered in scales, looking a bit like an anteater
- They are largely nocturnal and love to eat ants and termites
- The word Pangolin means 'roller' in Malay - when threatened they roll up into a tight ball to protect themselves
- There are 8 species of Pangolin, living across Africa and Asia, all of which are at risk of extinction from trafficking
Here at Peony & Pangolin, we are proud to sponsor a Pangolin called Marimba through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Find out more about the foundation and their plight to save Pangolins by visiting https://davidshepherd.org/our-work/pangolins.
The Environment
We use quality, environmentally friendly materials. Our card is made from FSC sustainable sources and our envelopes and envelope sticker seals are recyclable.
Cello Free!
The greeting card industry is moving towards naked non-cello wrapped cards and we are very keen to support this. So, with the encouragement of the GCA (Greeting Card Association), we decided to launch naked! Our intention is that all of our cards will be free from single use plastic. However we do understand that for some of our Trade Customers this may not be possible yet, so please advise us when ordering. Raising awareness for Pangolins!
